Revised MasterPlan.jpg

PORTSMOUTH MUSIC CONSERVATORY

SOUTHSEA COMMON, PORTSMOUTH, UK

The masterplan follows a strategy that ensures safety from flooding by a combination of 'Defence', 'Attack' and 'Retreat' approaches. Providing an alternative solution to ESCP's proposal which features high retaining walls along the coastline which blocks views to and from the sea, it rather encourages activities and movements along the coastline.

Upon development of urban visions as a whole for the future of the Waterfront to respond to the climate change and rising sea levels, a context had been set for a music hub which is to include a concert hall for 1500 and a music department for the University of Portsmouth.
